Social Anxiety Phobia, 3 Steps to Eliminate Social Anxiety Phobia

Social Anxiety is a feeling of discomfort, fear, or worry that is centered on our interactions with other people
Lately I have been feeling like my workplace is the hardest area
for me to be comfortable, that feeling I now understand is social anxiety phobia or social fear.
My job is as a financial analyst and work within a large office and organization.
At times, I have to be able to speak and give group presentations, be part of an
ad-hoc group, and or manage certain number of interns, consultants and employees.
Lately, I have been having some real problems with social anxiety phobia symptoms.
These symptoms are just driving me mad; at times, I experience uncontrolled sweating,
anxiety chest pains, shortness of breath and feeling like I am about to faint in
front the executive meeting.

Below, I will give a bit detail more about social anxiety phobia but let stay with
me a tad more…
I have also noticed that I am feeling nervous about personal conversations and
requesting additional help on any given project, especially if I have to ask someone
I feel has a better knowledge or has a higher position.
I do not think this is normal.
For some reason, I am always afraid about being seen as an inept person. Last week,
we had our weekly office meeting and after a bit of a group discussion we were to
give a small presentation on the topic given to our small group.
I just could not control myself. I became agitated, was having problem breathing,
monster sweating all over, and all I want to do was to leave…
I do not recall talking that day.
I was so relieved that I was not the person chosen to give the 3 to 5 minute group
presentation. Like I said, I do not remember if I ever uttered a word that day.
I have contemplated switching jobs or maybe going into a profession where as to
have the least interaction possible. Something of a fresh start sounds good but
I know as a fact that this really does not take care of the problem.
The solution to all of this is to fix my social fears. May feel impossible but
what other outcome is better…?

3 Steps to Eliminate Social Anxiety Phobia:
Here is in rapid listing the three things you can do to eliminate
social anxiety phobia:
1. Find a Doctor or Professional – Foremost and most important part is
getting connected with a professional team.
2. Learning – learning to become your own therapist. (part of the CBT therapy),
if you are self motivated and under guidance of a professional this seems like
a very opportunistic way to relief you social anxiety…
(of course, this suits me perfectly!)
3. Medications – Consult your doctor or professional before taking any
anxiety drugs. (Citalopram, Xanax, Proxac, etc.)
4. BONUS: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - The most effective psychological treatment
for Social Phobia. Numerous research trials have demonstrated a clear advantage for CBT,
and the treatment is now widely accepted as a first choice treatment for Social Phobia.
